Did you know that Ameliorate means to make something better? No? Me neither, until I found a product that does just that. Ameliorate is a skincare brand that is dedicated to helping to make skin appear hydrated and healthy. In fact, it’s the UK’s first dermatology skincare brand that has been proven to help treat rough, dry and bumpy skin. Of course, the brand is more than just a treatment for problem skin, it has been created to prevent problems and to make sure that your face and body are supported with the best products.

If a product has been approved by dermatologists, it’s always going to make me feel more confident about using it. And expert endorsement is the rubber stamp of great products like Ameliorate. So if you’re invested in helping your skin stay as soft and healthy looking as possible you can get £15 off when you spend £25 off using referral code: ZAAKIR-R1

Originally, Ameliorate was designed to treat mild skin conditions, like ‘chicken skin’ – that’s the informal name given to Keratosis Pilaris. It may sound a bit of a scary name but it’s really just that rough or bumpy skin that appears on the body from time to time. While the skin condition isn’t harmful, it can be annoying and it can also be easily treated by using Ameliorate products.

  1. Transforming Body Lotion – This is one of their flagship products, formulated with lactic acid to gently exfoliate and intensely moisturize the skin. It’s widely praised for its effectiveness in smoothing rough, dry, and bumpy skin, particularly for those with keratosis pilaris.
  2. Smoothing Body Exfoliant – This exfoliating product is often used in combination with the Transforming Body Lotion. It contains both physical exfoliants (like micro-dermabrasion granules) and chemical exfoliants (lactic acid) to remove dead skin cells and smooth out texture.
  3. Nourishing Body Wash – A gentle body wash designed for sensitive and dry skin types. It helps cleanse without stripping the skin of its natural moisture.
  4. Intensive Foot Treatment – This is designed to smooth and soften dry, cracked heels and feet. It’s a hydrating cream that also has exfoliating properties.
  5. Clarifying Scalp Exfoliant – A newer product that targets scalp issues, such as dry, flaky, or congested skin, and helps with scalp renewal.
  6. Therapeutic Skincare Regimen Kits – Ameliorate also offers skincare kits for both the face and body that combine some of their popular products into a routine for those looking to improve overall skin texture and hydration.

Their products are generally celebrated for being effective for people with conditions like KP, eczema, and extremely dry or sensitive skin.

It may be that you only suffer from skin conditions at certain times of the year. Many people find the winter months particularly drying for their skin. Others find the summer heat makes their skin itchy and flaky. Whatever your skin issues are or when you have them, Ameliorate can help get your skin back to feeling soft and smooth.

When we’re thinking about skincare we’re generally thinking of the face. It’s the most exposed part of our body, usually, so it’s natural we want to protect, prevent, or treat issues that stem from that exposure. Ameliorate’s range of face care is impressive. You can shop via a ‘shop all’ function to browse and see what fits. Or, if you have a skin complaint you can search via “skin concern’. This handy search function cuts down on the need to spend hours scrolling for a product that will work for your needs.

I was really pleased to stumble on the Scalp Care range. It’s a much-neglected area of the body and, to be honest, my other half had been having issues with redness around his hairline. Using off-the-shelf remedies and harsher treatments only made the problem worse. When we found Ameliorate, it was a relief in more ways than one. He really loved their Deep and Cleansing Hair and Scalp Mask which he follows with their Transforming Scalp serum. The redness receded and the small bumps reduced very quickly.

Many people find that the back of their arms are prone to ‘chicken skin’ and others state their legs are the most likely place for bumps to appear. It’s possible this is caused by shaving (cyclists and swimmers – you’ll know what I mean) or from garments rubbing our skin or simply for no explicable reason whatsoever – our bodies can be annoying like that. If that’s a problem you have, you’ll want to check out their specialist products under the ‘Keratosis Pilaris’ section.

If that’s not something you’re suffering from, you may have skin issues resulting from ingrown hairs, blocked pores, spots and blemishes or the menopause. For any of those skin concerns and so much more, visit the Ameliorate website and use our referral code: ZAAKIR-R1 to get £15 off when you spend £25.

Your skin will definitely thank you for it.
